ESPN Lands Solitaire Tournament

BRISTOL -- ESPN has announced that they have won the bidding war for the exclusive rights to televise "Jamie Farr's World Celebrity Solitaire Shoot-Out" live from the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

"We are very excited to have the opportunity to present this exciting competition for our viewers," said Egan Krawlwhetter, ESPN Vice President of Filling Time. "Jamie has put together a quality event with many of his friends and colleagues participating, including Loretta Swit, Ed MacMahon, Jack Klugman, Buddy Hackett, Tony Randall, John Ritter, Harvey Korman, Cloris Leachman, Paul Linde, among others."

Reportedly, Farr has been working closely with elder care products divisions of both Kimberly-Clark and Proctor & Gamble to finalize a title sponsor.

Krawlwhetter hinted that ESPN might shake things up with their choice of color commentator to partner with veteran Card Sharks play-by-play man Bob Eubanks. Industry rumors have run rampant, claiming that ESPN has been in discussions with the likes of Vince McMahon, Mick Jagger and Madonna for booth duty during the broadcasts.
