Black Hole for Heroes

Funny, how out of all of the hundreds of thousands of service men and women who have bravely served in the war on terror, there have been no Sergeant Yorks, Eddie Rickenbackers, Audie Murphys, or Pappy Boyingtons lauded in the press.

Only the daily coverage of the al Quaeda heroes, namely the suicide bombers.

We know that newspapers, magazines, and TV love stories about the brave and courageous -- we see it every day: sports heroes, civil rights heroes, war protester heroes, teacher heroes, movie heroes, law enforcement heroes, whistleblower heroes, and, yes, even, reporter heroes.

We certainly know of Cindy Sheehan, Joe Wilson, and Bob Woodruff, but why can't we name one single soldier hero from Iraq or Afghanistan?
