Local Actor Jailed for Paparazzi Scuffle

PISTOL CREEK JUNCTION -- Local thespian Digby Dalhaber spent the night in jail after an altercation with a photographer at the opening of the new film Badger Dancing at the Pistol Creek Outlet Mall Cinema 36.

Unlike most fellow actors, Dalhaber assaulted the man because he would not take his picture as he was being ejected from the theater after trying to sneak into the 7 pm showing without buying a ticket, because he claimed to have had a role in the movie.

"I saw the whole thing and the guy's a nut job," said Cinema 36 Concession Stand Technician Orville Maize. "Like anybody would really buy a National Enquirer cause he's on the cover."

Dalhaber appears in a second reel crowd shot, but has no speaking lines. The Martin Scorsese film chronicles the 1970s love affair between a young University of Wisconsin pep squad participant and a member of the radical Weather Underground.

The former husband of Madonna, Sean Penn, once said regarding the paparazzi, "I still think photographers should be lashed out at. They should be put in a cage where you can poke them with a stick for a quarter. But not in a hostile way, just for giggles."

The photograph was uninjured, but has retained legal counsel.

Dalhaber was released after posting bail, but photographers were not on hand to document his release.
